  • 100 g heavy cream

  • 1/4 tsp ground all spice
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 100 g dark brown sugar
  • 200 g apples (grated)
  • 110 g vegetable oil (room temperature)
  • 2 eggs (room temperature)
  • 140 g sour cream (14-18% room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 100 g butter (room temperature)
  • 165 g powdered sugar
  • 23 tsp caramel
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the salted caramel sauce by heating granulated sugar and water until golden, then adding butter and heavy cream.
  2. In a bowl, mix together all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and allspice.
  3. In a large bowl, combine granulated sugar, dark brown sugar, and vegetable oil; add eggs one at a time followed by sour cream.
  4. Fold in grated apples until evenly mixed.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture without overmixing.
  6. Pour batter into a greased pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. While cooling, prepare the buttercream by beating room temperature butter with powdered sugar and caramel sauce.
  8. Once cooled, frost the cake with the buttercream and drizzle with additional caramel.
