  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or whole milk)
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and grease a medium-sized baking dish.
  2. Thinly slice the potatoes using a mandolin or sharp knife.
  3. In a pot over medium heat, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant. Whisk in flour, then gradually add cream until thickened.
  4. Stir in cheese (if using), thyme, salt, and pepper.
  5. Combine sliced potatoes with the sauce until well coated.
  6. Arrange potato slices upright in the baking dish, pour any remaining sauce on top, and add extra cheese if desired.
