  • 3 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup sugar (70g)
  • 3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour (490g)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (85g), softened
  • 1/4 cup salted butter (57g), melted
  • 23 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine warm milk and yeast in a large bowl; let sit until bubbly.
  2. Add sugar, flour, egg, salt, and softened butter; stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Turn onto a floured surface and knead for about 15 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with cling wrap, and let rise until doubled (90 minutes).
  5. Punch down the dough, divide it into 12 pieces, and shape into balls.
  6. Arrange on a lined baking sheet; allow to rise again for 30-45 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-22 minutes until golden.
