  • 8 sheets of phyllo dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup semolina flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup honey, warmed
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with melted butter.
  3. Layer phyllo sheets in the dish, brushing each with melted butter.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together semolina flour, eggs, sugar, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
  5. Pour the filling over the layered phyllo base and top with another sheet of phyllo brushed with butter.
  6. Score the top lightly and bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown.
