  • 1 cup butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 large onion (3 and 1/2 cups chopped)
  • 2 cups celery (1/4 inch diced)
  • 2 cups high-quality chicken or turkey broth
  • 2 large eggs
  • Fresh herbs: parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  3. 3. Sauté Onions & Celery: Melt butter in a skillet and sauté onions and celery until soft (7–10 minutes).
  4. 4. Combine Ingredients: In a bowl, mix toasted bread, sautéed veggies, herbs, salt, and pepper.
  5. 5. Add Broth Mixture: Whisk together broth and eggs; pour over bread mixture and combine gently.
  6. 6. Bake: Transfer to a greased baking dish; cover with foil and bake at 350°F for 40 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 25–35 minutes until golden brown.
