  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 2 green onions, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or chickpea flour)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup grapeseed oil (or other neutral oil, for frying)
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (or sour cream)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (from 1/2 lemon)
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, minced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp sea salt

Instructions

  1. Drain chickpeas and pat dry. Mash in a bowl until coarse.
  2. Mix in cumin, black pepper, sea salt, green onions, minced garlic, flour, and egg until combined.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Shape mixture into patties and fry for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  5. For the yogurt sauce, mix Greek yogurt, lemon juice, minced dill, garlic, and salt in a bowl; chill until serving.
  6. Serve warm with the yogurt sauce on the side.
